An esoteric, psychic, ancient, energetic science that uses and studies the meaning of numbers in a qualitative way was for me a very abstract and mysterious concept.
Simply looking into the study of the subject itself opens up infinite avenues of research not only on ourselves, and on the classic “what is our purpose on earth” but new opportunities to study subjects not commonly studied at school. The opportunity to enter a new world full of notions to discover was given to me with the study of numerology.
A new study
As you know, my study path has always been based on biological, anatomical, botanical and chemical sciences, therefore a very scientific approach; but at a certain point all this merged with the study of subjects, more “energetic”, even if for many they still remain subjects of science.
The very first approach to numerological science I had was thanks to my partner who constantly saw the number 1111, 111 and 11 several times during the day and everywhere from the clock to the license plates of the cars and asked me what, in my opinion, could be the meaning. Obviously, I had no idea. A few weeks later from the beginning of these events, I participated in a conference where the speaker spoke and explained, albeit in a not very exhaustive way, of the basic meaning of numbers and of this science, numerology. The curiosity, as you can well imagine, was skyrocketing and so I decided to enroll in a numerology course to understand more.
I know that your desire to understand more is increasing, as it happened to me, so get comfortable and let’s find out together what Numerology is.
Ancient origins of Numerology
First of all, Numerology is a very ancient science, there are written records already around 3000 BC, thanks to the Chaldeans and the Egyptians. Its substantial origin seems to have started with Pythagoras, one of the most illustrious and expert connoisseurs of the science of numbers; which teachings were taken up by Plato and strengthened by the Jewish tradition, by the Kabbalah. A science already in use in ancient times with which a numerological profile was drawn up for newcomers to the world to understand what could be the gifts they brought with them, their strengths and weaknesses, talents, and all the information necessary to direct them to the best in their personal training.
In fact, according to Pythagoras, Divinity is hidden in numbers, since numbers are order in the cosmos, order was created from chaos through numbers and so, according to the philosopher, the answers to man’s eternal questions lie in the mathematics that it is therefore Sacred Science:
“The name is an omen – a name, a destiny”
Even St. Augustine of Hippona (345-450 AD) wrote:
“Numbers are the universal language offered by divinities to humans as a confirmation of the truth”
A very profound statement that finds acceptance even among today’s numerologists who affirm that everything, even the most abstract concepts, can be reduced to numbers which have specific meanings, so finding the numerical value of a word or a name can be discover its hidden meaning.
What is Numerology?
Numerology is an esoteric, psychic science capable of qualitatively studying the meaning of numbers, thus giving an analysis of their most subtle and profound aspect. Perhaps Numerology compared to other esoteric and / or alternative sciences is the most immediate means to know ourselves in our depths and understand the motivations of our behaviors, inclinations, aspirations, emotions and feelings to expand our awareness. Like any other discipline, Numerology is also a tool that allows us to enter into a deep relationship with ourselves. Now, thanks to new discoveries, it is clear that everything that exists is within our mind and soul. The number in Numerology becomes the tool. From a more symbolic point of view, the number is that element that allows us to communicate with our subconscious, with what surrounds us and with the universe, which constantly sends us messages.
Numerology and the Kabbalah
Numerology has been taken up and strengthened by the Jewish tradition, in fact when we talk about numerology we speak of Kabbalah. Identifying the Kabbalah with the Jewish religion is a very common mistake since the Kabbalah is a deciphering tool for grasping the secret meaning of religions, regardless of the type of doctrine; it is a set of useful teachings to explain the relationship between God and man. The Kabbalah was born about 5000 years ago in ancient Mesopotamia by illustrious men interested in the functioning of Nature and the role of man in this dimension; the term Kabbalah means “receiving wisdom”, “revelation” and “tradition”. Within this text, there are explanations related to the symbolism of numbers and letters regarding numerology. The Hebrew alphabet consisting of 22 letters is an active alphabet since each letter corresponds to a numerical value. Then each letter is transformed into a number whose digits added together will give another number consisting of a single digit. Also, from the Jewish tradition comes the possibility of changing or adding some letters, without changing either the name or its meaning, but instead changing the numerical value. In the Kabbalist and Numerological structure, there is the main scheme called “The Tree of Life” which is simply a set of numbers and letters, paths, and spheres that substantially tell the nature of man.
What we need and how it is measured
Numbers through numerology have a value for us from a personal point of view, they tell us about messages, they arrive from the outside to answer important questions that comes, instead, from our depths. Numbers are normally very useful for measuring, recording, identifying objects and events, but they contain symbolic forces that connect and animate the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions with the human psyche. For some of us existential questions such as “what our purpose on earth is”, or “where we come from”, or “what the meaning of life is”, are commonplace, and using numbers as a basic language can help us unravel what it is hidden, knowing the reasons why we are on earth or much more simply clarifying who we are, allows us to live our life in full awareness, fulfilling and satisfying in order to fulfill our evolutionary task.
So, the study of numbers under the most energetic aspect can be useful for:
• Knowing ourselves more deeply
• Understanding our talents to fulfill our life purpose
• Relate to others
• Being able to make important decisions in the professional, work, personal and emotional sphere
• Improve our relationships
• Get to know our children better to help them express their potential
From a more technical point of view when we notice numbers they are nothing more than the answer to a certain question posed previously. So, when you notice a single, double, triple, quadruple number try to remember the question you asked yourself why the universe is answering you at that moment.
To draw up a precise numerological profile you need the so-called numerological chart where various numbers derived from various calculations are entered and with which you have a complete picture of the person being examined. Avoiding doing things that are too complicated and in order to have satisfactory basic information within anyone’s reach, essentially three pieces of data are needed to trace a profile of the person, thus arriving at a number that represents an archetype with its own qualities. These data are the figures obtained from the name, surname and date of birth where the name represents personality and individuality, the surname tells a tradition that comes from the parents while the date of birth represents the basic energy that we carry with us of birth and on which we build our path through our choices. I am sure you have noticed “parents” and not “parent”, it is not a typo but rather a way to remind us that we are the result of mom and dad, both as somatic traits and as DNA so it is very important during the numerological calculation consider both surnames.
